What is the right color for me?
Black Hair - People with black hair has a great difficulty dying it to another color. Black hair is of course the last color in the natural color wheel. In order to achieve a brown, red, or blond highlight you have to prelighten the hair to the level desired. Unfortunately this isn’t as easy as it sounds. When you want a light brown highlight or a red with bright color you have to prelighten the hair more than three levels using bleach and a high level peroxide. Once you have colored the hair you have taken on the responsibility of keeping up the maintenance, which will last until you decide to grow it out or cut it out.
The clip on highlights can be used without such a long term decision. Basically any color of highlights will go well with black hair. The boldness of black makes color bounce of its deep reflection
- If you want to keep things classic, red highlights are packed with a powerful punch when suited with black
- If you are a dramatic fun loving spirit then bright blonde is your answer
Brown Hair - When you are a bouncing brunette with a desire to spice things up blond is the answer for you
- If your hair is chestnut or very dark brown then you should choose a more golden blond, too white bright highlights can make your rich hair color appear dull and ashy
- If you are a light brunette, borderline blond, you can easily create depth in your color by adding a couple of blond strands. This color can sometimes look a bit wishy washy, so tip the scales with a strong bright blond to break the contrast and add flare
Be careful though! If you are a warm tone person bright blond can wash you out. With the easy clip highlighted system you can decide how many highlights you need. If you are a warm tone person just keep the highlights spaced out a little further and try not to have too much framing your face.
Blond Hair -
- If you are what so many of us refer to as a mousey blond then adding golden or bright blond highlights can look fantastic. Mousey blonds just need to add some dimension to bring some shine and life to the color
- If you are already a very light blonde and have wanted something different but have been afraid to add color to your white locks then this method is great for you. This is your answer to splashing in a little flavor without any consequences. I prefer strong red highlights for this color, but if I was working with the clip on highlighted system I would make things a little different.
Tip: Instead of arranging the highlights in the normal fashion I would apply them under the crown area, back to back. This way the color would look like a shadow highlight through the hair. For a full demonstration, watch our latest VIDEO
- If your hair is very light in color as well as in texture, using the more golden highlights will give the hair almost a low lighted effect and will create depth and dimension
As you can see no matter what color you are, working with it is always fun to throw in a few highlights for some flare and adventure. In the past; of course, there were many decisions to be made, many of which lead to long term sentences. Now with the easy clip on highlighted extensions you can create your very own personalized highlighted look with a time frame that works for you.
