What is Sedu?

Sedu is the hot new buzz-word in the world of hairstyling. Celebrity Sedu styles are seen on the red carpet and everyone wants to know how to get their hair.
The answer is simple – Sedu!
What is Sedu... what does it mean?
Sedu is the brand name for ceramic and tourmaline hair straightening irons.
It's also become the popular name for any straight or sleek hairstyle but there's only one Sedu!
What's so special about Sedu?
To understand why Sedu irons are so great – you need to know a little about the structure of your hair.
If you looked at a single hair under a microscope, you would be able to see the outer layer of the hair. This is called the cuticle.
In healthy hair, the cuticle should look like fish scales. Imagine a fish for a moment - aren't they smooth and shiny! Smooth, flat cuticles reflect the light and make the hair shine. That's how our hair should look...
But - every time we use harsh shampoo, heat, color, chemicals like perming lotions or yank at our tangles with a brush – it damages the hair cuticle.
Permanent color and perms have to open up the hair cuticle in order to work so damage is unavoidable. Once those outer scales get roughed up or broken the condition of the hair deteriorates and it starts to look dull and dry.
How can Sedu help?

At a basic mechanical level, hair straighteners work by the two sides of the irons being squeezed together and run through your hair. The heat makes the bonds of protein in the hair restructure themselves – taking the hair from curly to straight. The irons also help to smooth down the cuticles, into their proper downward direction – which helps to restore health and shine to the hair.
Sedu plates are ultra-smooth so that you can straighten without pulling or breaking your hair. Sedu will glide through your hair – however curly or frizzy and leave smooth silk in its place!
The other main factor in hair straightening is negative ions. Sedu has many more negative ions than regular ceramic and this is what makes Sedu so special and superior.
Negative is good!
Welcome to the world of negative ions!
Hair naturally holds a positive static charge. Have you ever pulled a top over your head and had your hair stand on end? That's the positive static charge and it's also what makes hair 'flyaway'.

To get rid of that, you need a negative charge to cancel out the positive. That's where ceramic straighteners come in. The ceramic plate holds a negative charge which cancels out the positive and makes the hair lie flat. This negative charge is also called 'negative ions'.
Negative ions moisturize the hair!
Research has shown that negative ions break water molecules into microscopic particles. This lets the moisture go right into the shaft of the hair and helps to restores its natural balance.
Why does Sedu have more negative ions?
Sedu straighteners also have Tourmaline in their ceramic plates.
Tourmaline is a precious stone that releases negative ions when it's heated up. Sedu irons release six times more negative ions than plain ceramic ones. This means that your hair can be up to three times silkier than with plain ceramic. If you thought your ceramic straighteners were good – imagine how your hair could look with Sedu!
Sedu speeds up straightening

The high concentration of negative ions means that Sedu can halve the time you spend straightening. Half the time and three times better results…sounds good, doesn't it!
Choose your heat
Sedu irons have a temperature dial so that you can choose the best for your own hair. The heat ranges from 240°- 410° F which is 120° - 200° C.
The lower heat is best for damaged, bleached, colored and fine hair.
For normal hair you can use the mid range.
Ethnic, coarse or thick hair can take the maximum heat.
Size matters!
If your hair is short to medium length, the Sedu 1" iron is best for you. However, if it's short but thick or very curly, choose the 1½" model.
If your hair is medium length to long, go for the Sedu 1½" iron.
Sedu makes life easier
The Sedu has a 9 foot long swivel cord to prevent tangling and for easy use. The irons weigh less than half a pound so your arm won't get tired!
Choose your style!
Sedu irons don't just straighten!
With Sedu you can also create waves and curls, flip ups and flip unders.
